I've managed to dig up another second-hand Pippin annual. Pippin, for those unfamiliar, was a comic for small children based largely around various animated or puppet series...
By this time the comic was including a strip based on a relatively recent series: Dr. Snuggles, from 1980.
The Trumpton strips appear to have been drawn by Fred Robinson, who'd been providing them at last as far back as the early seventies...
By contrast, the Mary, Mungo and Midge strip was handled by various different illustrators over the years, each with a quite different take on John Ryan's characters.
The Wombles strips contain more human characters than the TV series. This suggests that they were inspired more by the original Elisabeth Beresford novels, where encounters with humans were commonplace.
