Eighties TV opening sequences: Mitch, Heart of the Country, Tenko

In this post I'll be looking at animated opening sequences to live-action series from the eighties.

First up is the 1984 series Mitch. The titles use a photo collage technique.

Here's the opening sequence to Heart of the Country, a 1987 series written by Fay Weldon. It combines live-action puppets with animated effects, and makes for a decidedly odd way to begin a drama series.

And finally, here's the opening to Tenko from 1981. This is actually something of a grey area - the series itself was a British/Australian co-production, and as the sequence's animators were uncredited I can't be sure which country was responsible.
