"I got the real people who did Yellow Submarine to parody themselves," says Idle on the DVD commentary. "I just gave them a song and a brief saying 'send yourselves up, give us a parody'. And they did it wonderfully, and it was wonderful. I felt about this time in the movie we want a little... a different change of pace, and I thought an animated three minutes would be really good. And they did a really fine job."
The film's credits attribute the animation simply to Little Big Films of London. According to Denis Gifford's filmography the sequence was animated by George Parker and Tony White.
