Golden Wolf: Superman and the Justice League

In the eighties, the Richard Williams studio made a series of anti-smoking public information films starring Superman. Now, a Superman short has once again been animated in London - this time, by Golden Wolf. Celebrating the character's 75th anniversary, the short was conceived and directed by Bruce Timm and Zack Snyder.

This was not the first time Golden Wolf animated DC's characters - earlier this year, the company put together a Target advert featuring the Justice League.

Eighties opening/ending sequences: Knightmare and Maid Marian and her Merry Men

A couple of late 1980s kids' TV sequences which should bring back memories for readers of a certain generation...

First off, the opening to the Dungeons and Dragons-esque game show Knightmare. The sequence was animated by Siriol, the studio behind Superted. Some of the original drawings can be seen here.

Next, the ending credits from Maid Marian and her Merry Men, which began in 1989. The animators are not credited but the designs for this sequence are clearly the work of Paul Cemmick, who illustrated a series of comics that tied in with the series.
